In February 2025, despite efforts to recruit and retain members, our remaining members voted to close Holly Club of Joliet. We spent most of the following year finding a way to do so with dignity and grace.
The last event for Holly Club of Joliet was our beloved Lawn Party, held on June 10, 2025.
The funds raised at the 2025 Lawn Party, combined with our investments, allowed us to award over $90,000 to local organizations.
Included in these funds were four endowments that were established to carry on Holly Club’s charitable mission, and its name, into perpetuity.
The nonprofit organizations that received the Holly Club endowments include the Boys & Girls Club of Joliet, Easterseals Joliet Region, Will-Grundy Medical Clinic and the Greater Joliet Area YMCA.
In the effort to bring this 136-year-old organization to a close while leaving a legacy of care for community members in difficult or challenging circumstances, we trust our founders have undoubtedly been looking down upon us with compassionate pride.
We thank our most recent and past members, our patronesses, and our community advocates for the support and generosity over the decades.
We made a difference!
